“Is the reported fan noise an issue/an oddity on some machines and is it a returnable issue if it occurs? Would the higher speced model be less prone to that fan noise?”

• I haven't noticed a fan noise problem. Of course, if you're trying to edit film and photography or playing a graphics intensive game, sure you'll hear it loud and clear. But for everyday use, I haven't heard it once.
