No, the battery is not user replaceable but, if you are in the warranty period you can get it done by Lenovo or by Geek Squad (ONLY if you have the protection plan)

Yes, you can replace the battery yourself and its very simple to do. By the time you need to replace the battery (few years down the road), the standard factory warranty would be well over. Here is the link for the replacement battery and search Google for some German guy who took out the battery (very easy).
