“When writing with the pen in the tablet mode, I assume the keyboard would be facing out and on my lap. So I wonder if there's a problem with accidentally hitting keys or the touch pad with my knee/leg and causing some inadvertent action?”

The keyboard is deactivated. So hitting those buttons doesn't change anything you are doing
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, once the screen is rotated past 183-degrees and then into the tablet mode, the keyboard automatically turns off. It will turn back on when your screen is rotated back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When it is in "tablet mode" the keyboard is deactivated so it won't register keystrokes. The computer is much faster and quieter than other computers in the same price range. I am really enjoying the fast boot times.
