I read extensively about the problem the other evening. Apparently, Lenovo still has not fixed the problem. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-720-Display-Issue/td-p/3711026 There are 62 pages of posts from owners (or potential owners) of the laptop who are requesting support. In brief: - User "Andy_Lenovo," a forum admin, has assured forum users that Lenovo acknowledges an issue exists, yet has not provides much reassurance that Lenovo is fix the issue. - The issue's root cause is due to the diffuser sheet sliding down from the top of the monitor. The problem can become worse over time and even owners who originally thought that repairs (at either Best Buy or by some other kind of repair technician) are again experiencing the same issue. - The issue manifests as users being able to see the diffuser sheet's opaque border to block the backlight, creating a tilted black line. The black line appears at an angle, representing the amount the sheet has rotated down from the corner. I purchased this Lenovo Yoga 720 this past Black Friday as an open box item, saving myself over $300 off the retail price. It didn't notice the diffuser sheet issue at first but am now observing it since last Sun., Dec-10. It's not bad on my monitor -- the black line doesn't obscure on what I'm working. But it is disappointing that Lenovo cannot commit to fixing the issue, given the price of the laptop and the number of complaints.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can most certainly tell you this is an issue. I have spent copious amounts of time setting this computer up after purchasing it in early December and now have the issue and am in a quandary as to what to do. I am really annoyed since Best Buy does not offer the non 4k option which I understand does not have the issue. I use the laptop for work and cannot be without it while I ship it off for repairs. I am considering returning it and starting over which is a huge waste of my time for a known issue.
