Please for the love of God tell me this has an SD card reader? I was just about to buy it and thought to check at the last minute. I don't see one in the pics or in the specs. I cannot fathom why it would not have one. Please tell me it has one?   (5 Answers)

It does not. Nor does it have a Micro-SD card reader. Our only option is to waste a precious USB slot by using an external card reader... I think Lenovo should have just incorporated it, the thing seems spacious enough. Don't follow Apple's mantra, guys :(

I saw that at Best Buy they do not have many stylus models. Of those I found, there is the Wacom - Bamboo Fineline Stylus. Maybe, a bit expensive for what I'm looking for. Which do you recommend with at least 1024 levels of pressure for Yoga 720? Thanks!   (3 Answers)

        Answer

The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline is for iOS devices. For the Yoga 720 you'll need a Wacom AES stylus, e.g. Lenovo Active Pen (1st gen starts at around $30, 2nd gen only ships with the Miix 720 at the moment, don't know when it'll be out officially). It has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. The Wacom Bamboo Smart for 2-in-1 Devices, as well as some Dell and HP Active Pens are also based on AES technology and thus should work, too, but you really can't go wrong just getting the Lenovo Active Pen.

          Answer

This accepts Wacom AES pens, specifically Lenovo Active Pen, but Dell, HP and other Active Pens which are also AES should work, too. Not 100% sure since I haven't tried myself. Wacom's Bamboo Smart Pen for 2-in-1 devices is quite popular, too. Beware, it doesn't accept Wacom EMR or N-Trig (MS Surface)!

Is the space bar badly designed or did I get a lemon? If I press anywhere in the couple centimeters on either end of the space bar, it "clicks" but will not type a space--I have to press near the middle.   (5 Answers)

I think you got a lemon. I have never once had trouble with the space bar.

              Answer

Have I encountered it? Yes. Is there a fix for this? You can temporarily fix it by turning the unit upside-down overnight, with the top of the screen facing down. Lenovo support has promised a permanent fix soon but it will require sending it in for repairs. How common is this problem? Nearly all of the 4K 15.6 models sold at Best Buy have the issue. My local store's floor model has it too.

Man, I wish people here would do at least SOME research before answering and spreading falsehoods. The SSD IS upgradeable! Just look into Lenovo's Hardware Maintenance Manual here, page 36: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/yoga720-13ikb_yoga720-15ikb_hmm_201702.pdf

                Answer

Battery life with normal usage will get you about 5-6 hours. Reducing the resolution will not make any difference to the battery life. Yes fan is always running but its not that loud. Once the fan for the Nvidia card starts running then it a little bit louder.

The only thing holding me back from getting this is.... What is the fan noise/thermals like under load, for example, Overwatch? Also, previous Lenovo 700's had noise even web-browsing, Does this laptop have it? Lastly, what is the battery life like?   (1 Answer)

                  Answer

This is a new model, there is no fan noise problem. The cooling system within this device can handle high performance use without over heating. You can expect between 6 to 8 hours of battery life, depending on the work that the system is performing.
