Short version: manufacture date on the label, after mid September 2017 should be fine. Full story below. I was asking the same, never really found an answer. However, after going through the thread on Lenovo's forums, it looks like a couple of things could've happened: - They may have taken their stock at the time and switched them to the new screens (or new process of installing? Still not clear to me what the original problem was) - The units made after they found a solution shouldn't have the issue From what I read, the fix might have been available sometime in mid-September, but definitely by early October. So here's what I did: I went in, explained my concern since the guy at the computer section hadn't heard of this, and asked if he could find the manufacturing date on the box. It is there on the label with the system specs. They didn't have any from October, but the one I got has a 9/17/17 date on it. No sign of a line yet, and I've had it in some relatively extreme conditions- below-freezing car on my way to work, then into the warm air, tablet mode to laptop mode to tent mode to closed, upside-down, sideways, multiple taps/gentle impacts. Basically everything that was mentioned as a possible way to make the line appear, mine has been through without having it happen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just returned my pc today because of the black line issue. I just purchased mine on 12/11 so I would say that if there is a new product the stores dont have them yet. To my knowledge and from what I have read online there has not been any change in panel and all of those who have sent in their laptops to Lenovo to repaired end up having the same problem again.
