• There may be a "shadow" image on the screen of the keyboard area, but it should not be visible once the device is turned on.

• Unfortunately, this seems to be normal. A couple companies make keyboard protectors that will help reduce the screen imprint/dirt. I placed one of those film screen protectors on mine, but it's not great quality. I'll be keeping my eyes open for a better option.
