I own this computer, and you are right. The shift key is most definitely in the wrong place. I have smaller hands and can't reach the shift key without taking my hand off of the keyboard. I downloaded an program call Key Tweak and swapped the right shift key and the up arrow. Took about 5 minutes and works like a charm. I will take this small issue, given all of the positives with this machine. It is light, super fast, and the solid state hard drive is awesome. Hopes this helps.

You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Used the key shift software recommended by Lenovo and swapped the page up key with the right shift key. Gently pop the tabs after the software switch if you want the key to be labeled correctly. Simple fix.
