“My Lenovo C741 (15.6") is not quite six months old. The charger jack was dysfunctional. Replaced motherboard at Lenovo's suggestion. Stopped working. Got new plug/charger. Now isn't working again. Is there any hope beyond new computer?”

Did you ever figure out the issue? Mine originally had an error screen that popped up and got stuck on the startup screen. Now it’s not wanting to turn on at all and I’m not tech savvy enough to know what the issue is.
