A:Answer This is a remote control designed to look like a dimmer switch. It doesn’t control dim or switch AC power by itself. It sends a wireless signal to another device. It’s for use with specific Leviton smart switches and dimmer switches that do control AC power. It would be used to control a dimmer switch from another location. This accessory device is not required for a Leviton Smart switch / dimmer to work. It provides a another way to control the switch/dimmer in addition to using a smartphone, tablet, etc app.
