The top exhaust requires 17 inches of clearance above the cooktop, while the rear exhaust needs 18 inches of clearance above the microwave. QuestionCan this microwave be installed as a built-in instead of over-the-range?

- Answer The bottom needs to be open for the vent fan intake to work and the top has to be clear above for the vent fan exhaust. Above cabinet has to be 14 inches or less from the back wall. So not really. It's meant to take the place of a range hood/or add a range hood.

QuestionDoes this microwave have vents on the top? If so- at any time will air come out of those vents IF THE MICROWAVE IS VENTED OUTSIDE? I’m concerned that if there are vents on the top the air will ruin the cabinets the microwave is mounted under.

- Answer To my understanding, this microwave can be vented either way. I had someone install it and he indicated that the instructions provide the adaption methodology.

- Answer It works with Alexa. You have to set up a LG account and then install the LG ThinQ skill in your Alexa app. You can also install the LG ThinQ app on your phone. The Alexa skill really doesn't do that much.
