This air conditioner requires 220 volts.

The ENERGY STAR® LG 18,000 BTU 230/208V Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW1816ER must be plugged into a standard 250 V, 3-wire grounding receptacle rated at 15 amps. Fortunately, the plug on the dryer will not fit into a 110V receptacle since it does not have the same configuration. The plug has 2 horizontal blades over a round grounding pin as opposed to the 2 vertical blades over a grounding pin for a 110 V receptacle. ^CP
