If you have an LG LW2421HRSM window unit with an electric heater and you want to run the heater in the winter, you should not cover the entire unit. The heater needs proper ventilation to operate safely and efficiently. However, you can cover the outside portion of the unit to protect it from the elements, while leaving the top and sides uncovered to allow for proper airflow.
