• I placed mine about six feet away. I believe you can place the sub up to 30 ft away. I would suggest experimenting

• The instructions suggest anywhere within 30 feet. Line of sight (i.e. no obstructions between sound bar and sub woofer) is best.

• Placement is not extremely important for a sub, but I have mine positioned to the right of my TV.

• This is going to depend solely on how the room you are using it in is furnished. For me I have a small living room and I placed the sub about ten feet away in corner facing the couch and have had great results. Previously I had the sub right next to the entertainment center where the sound bar is and the result were not as good.
