• If you only have 3 HDMI ports, I recommend using the fiber optic cable to connect the sound bar to the TV as it will save you an extra HDMI slot.

• Chances are your TV supports ARC (audio return channel). Usually hdmi 1 is the ARC port. The soundbar acts as a middle man. Device->soundbar->TV if connected like this your TV remote will control the soundbar If your TV doesn't support ARC use optical

• Use the optical cable output, the TV will pump whatever sound the TV is receiving to the sound bar. This how I have it hooked up to my 55 Samsung

• use the optical hook up .... it will push any audio your tv sees through the sound bar
