We have the same problem even after changing the filter with one not made by LG. LG should be answering this Question!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have LOVED my LG appliances that we have purchased. We purchased a home and new a new refrigerator. I immediately looked to LG to fulfill my requirements. After perusing reviews, I am very concerned. It is distressing to read so many reviews that indicate poor design, gross negligence and lack of a desire to keep your customers happy. In addition, the requirement that only LG repair persons are authorized to fix them (if possible from what I am reading) often means waiting WEEKS is unconscionable and shows a lack of empathy for your customers and is overall poor business. What has happened LG? You seem to often fail to answer questions put to you as above. I have read this same or similar question/complaint from others on other websites. It is evidently not isolated and there are many prospective buyers who want to know the answer. Be honest, be forthright, be the company I know you to have been. I was once one of your most fervent product ambassadors. No longer. I doubt that I am alone.

The plumber said the tubing in the fridge itself is plastic not the connection. Could that be causing. EXTREMELY disappointed as I bought the entire LG package around this fridge .

We regret to read about the plastic-like taste that you are getting from the Ice/Water Dispenser on your ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 21.7 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Counter-Depth Smart Wi-Fi Refrigerator - Stainless Steel, Model # LSXC22396S and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We are not clear on if you are saying that you had a new filter installed. The refrigerator should have come with a filter installed so you would not have had to install one. If you have flushed out the water and you are still getting a plastic taste and your tap water does not have the taste, if you had a new water line installed, that could be the source of the plastic taste. What type of water line do you have connected to the refrigerator? Is it a copper water line or is it PEX tubing? The refrigerator will require inspection to determine what is causing the water to taste like plastic. Odors in the refrigerator's freezer or fresh food compartment may not be apparent but will still affect the smell and taste of the water and ice...^IFV
