No . . . the replaceable filter serves to filter the water going to the ice machine. There is not a water dispenser for drinking water with this unit.

All these new refrigerators with water dispensers recommend changing the $50 filter every six months. YIKES! Unless using a LOT of ice or someone's fishing then only need to change about once a year, if that.

Personally don't care for external door dispenser as they take away internal frig space - hubby choose the door-in-door feature over internal water dispenser as this LG looks attractive. Note: Door-in-door shelves, although convenient, is nearly 8-10 degrees warmer than main frig, so don't put highly perishable items needing colder temps in door-in-door area.
