This is only a partial answer. I don't use the ice-maker. So it's not connected behind the refrigerator. But the back of the refrigerator still hits the capped water pipe stud in the wall. That stud only sticks out about 1.5". But that's enough that this refrigerator sticks out further than the same sized Maytag it replaced. And my guess is that if I put the proper connectors and valves on that water pipe, the refrigerator would stick out even more. Another tip. The guys who brought the new refrigerator had to knock the pins out of the front door's hinges and remove the door to get the new unit through the front door. The old 24 cu. ft. Maytag easily fit without having to do that. All that said, this LG is really nice.
