We have the direct tv genie models and all you need to do is bring up LG on the list and I just hit option that said I did not know my product model number and direct tv genie scanned for me and found it without a problem. So you can turn the tv off with the direct tv remote and this also will adjust the volume.

A:AnswerMine has lasted just about 2 years. I was gone for two weeks and came home to turn it on and can only see Select language. It's on English and should be able to hit Ok a to continue as the screen displays. I've restarted the cable box, disconnected all cables,changed batteries and tried new HDMI cables and still doesn't work. Time to replace.
