- Answer LG reps say they don't use bitumen, but LG does use bitumen. You'll see it if you order it.

QuestionLooking for a new dishwasher-- i prefer the controls to be on top but i dont see any hidden options for white. question is are these buttons sensitive when my stomach touch it as i prepare food for anything? i have annoying experience with my current one.

- Answer I also was looking for top controls but the front controls aren't a problem. The control panel is situated in such a way that accidentally pushing them probably won't be a problem.

- Answer I had a 20 yr old dishwasher with the nylon (or whatever coating it is same as this model) and it never rusted. I don’t expect this one will either.

- Answer Dishwasher LDFN4542S upper rack adjusts up and down. It can be raised to allow items up to 14” tall in the lower rack. Lower the upper rack to allow dishes up to 12” tall in the upper rack. The dishwasher ships with the upper rack raised. ^Daphane

QuestionI'm hoping someone can tell me the shortest height this can be adjusted to. I know what is in the specifications, but I'm hoping this has adjustable legs to shorten it a bit. We are installing hardwood floor, which limits our cutout space. Thanks!

- Answer There is a limited amount of adjustment you can make to the height of the dishwasher. We had a floating floor installed when we had the old dishwasher and there was a bit of a problem getting it out of the undercabinet space when it came time to install the new one. The floating floor was 3/8" thick which gave me about 1/2" inch to adjust the new dishwasher during installation. It was difficult but I made it!

QuestionLDFN4542S dishwasher. Serial: 103KWKS0T381. Dishwasher is NSF Certified. Incoming water temp is 135 degrees. What options do I select to sanitize and get the water temp to 150 degrees? The Owner's Manual says NOTHING about how to SANITIZE the dishes.

- Answer I use Heavy, High Temp, Extra Dry settings. Probably the high temp is the key for basic sanitizing but whether it gets to 150 or not, I don’t know. It has no “sanitize” setting per se like my old Maytag did. I feel like the dishes come out very clean though. I haven’t worried about it.

- Answer Not sure what you mean by “open bottom,” but the machine itself does not extend to the floor. It’s even with the bottom of my cabinets that are about 4 inches off the floor. It has kind of a kick plate under it. See attached photo.
