A:AnswerI also was looking for top controls but the front controls aren't a problem. The control panel is situated in such a way that accidentally pushing them probably won't be a problem.
A:AnswerI had a 20 yr old dishwasher with the nylon (or whatever coating it is same as this model) and it never rusted. I don’t expect this one will either.
A:AnswerDishwasher LDFN4542S upper rack adjusts up and down. It can be raised to allow items up to 14” tall in the lower rack. Lower the upper rack to allow dishes up to 12” tall in the upper rack. The dishwasher ships with the upper rack raised. ^Daphane
A:AnswerThe Express cycle is 33 - 103 minutes. The actual running time and cycle time displayed may change depending on options chosen, soil level, water temperature, and hardness of water. Therefore, display time and actual running time can be different. ^Daphane
A:AnswerThere is a limited amount of adjustment you can make to the height of the dishwasher. We had a floating floor installed when we had the old dishwasher and there was a bit of a problem getting it out of the undercabinet space when it came time to install the new one. The floating floor was 3/8" thick which gave me about 1/2" inch to adjust the new dishwasher during installation. It was difficult but I made it!
A:AnswerHello there, Peter! Thank you for your question about the LG LDFN4542S dishwasher. The Smart Control feature allows you to connect your dishwasher to Wi-Fi, enabling you to monitor and control the appliance remotely using the LG ThinQ app. This includes features like starting cycles, receiving notifications, and checking the status of your dishes right from your smartphone.
In contrast, the regular control version does not have this Wi-Fi connectivity, which means you’ll need to operate it manually using the built-in controls on the dishwasher itself.
If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport. We’re here to help!

A:AnswerI use Heavy, High Temp, Extra Dry settings. Probably the high temp is the key for basic sanitizing but whether it gets to 150 or not, I don’t know. It has no “sanitize” setting per se like my old Maytag did. I feel like the dishes come out very clean though. I haven’t worried about it.
A:AnswerNot sure what you mean by “open bottom,” but the machine itself does not extend to the floor. It’s even with the bottom of my cabinets that are about 4 inches off the floor. It has kind of a kick plate under it. See attached photo.
