“The page says 'Works with Google Assistant' but I don't see anywhere in the manual on the on LG's site that it is a smart device. Does it in fact work with Google Assistant or is the info on this page inaccurate?”

Yes it does but it is for repair use only. You can use a smart device with google assistance like your phone for repairs, it is like Apple Pay or such which transmits error codes for repairs, but doesn’t actually serve any other function.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It supposedly offers Smart Diagnostic in case of a problem. I tried to call LG to use the Smart Diagnostic because ours stopped cooling. I tried everything the manual asked us to try before calling to use Smart Diagnostics. They answered quick and sent me the Smart Diagnostic department, kept me on hold for 35 minutes then told me the department was closed. Disappointed. Lost a lot of food and fridge still doesn’t work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I looked for this feature also, but I do not think it has WiFi connectivity. Excellent fridge regardless and I can't think what I would need LG ThinQ for it anyway. Now the washers and dryers, it is helpful to know when they are done cycling.
