I can only speak for Mac compatibility and it works just fine. My son's school uses Mac books and I bought this for him so he can do his work on a bigger screen and keyboard instead of the small laptop. He usually has two windows open on the monitor split nicely. It's connected through HDMI and no issues whatsoever.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought it to hook up to my 2017 MacBook Pro. After buying a Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI cord (from Amazon for about $10), it’s hooked up easily; I’ve had no problems with it. Granted, I don’t use it for film editing, but it should work fine. (I think the problem others have had is not having an updated Mac OS and/or their Macs aren’t recent enough to have a graphics card to support it, though I can’t say for sure.) Good luck!
