The microwave does not continue to heat; it just becomes unavailable while "cooling." It is a design flaw in the LG. See my review.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cooling is just ensuring the oven body and electronics are cooled, it has stopped cooking. Contrary to another answer given, the oven is not unavailable while cooling, you just have to press the Upper Clear/Off button and you can continue to use the oven. There is no flaw here. What is a little odd is that the cooling doesn't always kick in if you stop the oven before the end. I often stop the oven with 1 second to go to avoid the cooling fan if we have used the oven to warm something right before a meal as the cooling fan is annoying to listen too for several minutes.
