In case of a power failure, you can light the gas surface burners (but not the oven) on your range with a match. Surface burners in use when an electrical power failure occurs will continue to operate normally. 1) Hold a lit match to the burner, then push in the control knob. 2) Turn the control knob to the "Lo” position. I recommend extra long matches that are used for fireplaces etc. User Manual: http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-LDG3016ST# We appreciate your feedback, please give us a “thumbs up” if this answer is helpful to you; and please let us know if we can assist you with anything else. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not automatically, but you should be able to turn it on and light it with a lighter manually at the burner no problem. Just like the olden day stoves that didn't have electronic ignition built in. Just don't delay between the turning on and the hitting it with a lighter so you don't build up too much gas in between.
