“I just recently bought this TV and don't have Direct TV set up with it yet, however I tried to watch a movie and it was in black and white. I tried changing the settings to get the color, but nothing changed. I don't if something is wrong with the TV”

What type of connection are you using? Black and white means two things: the port is out or the cord connection is bad. Try a different cord connection to the tv first. Next try a different device, like a DVD player. If the player is black and white as well, it's the port, if it's the cord, you'll know relatively quick and that is all that needs to be replaced.
