- Answer The depth with the door open 90 degrees is 55". To ensure sufficient clearance for water inlet hoses, drain hose and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4 inches (10 cm) behind the washer. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances. ^Daphane

QuestionI am hesitant to buy a front loader because of problems people have with mildew/mold. I had one once and would dry the seals on the door after every wash but this is a hassle. Does this washer have any technology or design to counter this problem?

- Answer No, the washer does not have technology to counter act this effect. It is recommended to clean the gasket and door seal regularly and check under the door seal for small items when unloading the washer as well as cleaning the drainage pump filter regularly. ^Daphane

QuestionHow long it takes to complete a "normal" cycle?

- Answer Serena, Using the Normal setting on the WM3400CW LG FL WASHER 4.5 CU, the completion time will vary depending on the Soil option you choose. The LG washer does not give you the cycle time in Normal mode initially upon startup, as the machine takes approximately 15 seconds to adjust/set the cycle time depending on the weight and size of the load. There is a speed wash cycle option that will run 15- 25 mins, also dependent on the Soil option you choose. The True Balance technology seems to work well on the WM3400CW LG FL WASHER 4.5 CU, as I have not had one issue thus far with towels or heavy clothing causing the machine to go out of balance when using the high spin option. Normal Cycle: Light = 60-62 mins Normal = 65-70 mins Heavy = 99-120 mins

- Answer To ensure sufficient clearance for water inlet hoses, drain hose and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4 inches (10 cm) behind the washer. The matching dryer is DLG3401W/DLE3400W has been tested for clearances of 1 inch (2.5 cm) on the sides and rear. Recommended clearances should be considered for the following reasons: • Additional clearances should be considered for ease of installation and servicing. • Additional clearances should be considered on all sides of the dryer to reduce noise transfer. For closet installation, with a door, minimum ventilation openings in the top and bottom of the door are required. Louvered doors with equivalent ventilation openings are acceptable. ^Daphane

- Answer We have had the model for a month (28 uses) and have not had to drain it. The Owner's Manual does not require draining, unless you are cleaning the drain filter, which is only required when the washer fails to drain (we will probably do it every other month as part of regular maintenance).
