A: The More Water option adds approximately 3 gallons of water to the wash and rinse portions of the cycle. This is a nice option to use if you have an extra heavily soiled load or larger than normal load of laundry. -- If the option is selected before you start the wash cycle, the water will be added from the beginning of the wash cycle and later to the rinse cycle. If the option is selected during the wash portion, more water will be added at this point and later to the rinse. Likewise, if the More Water option is selected after the wash portion has completed, the washer will add more water to the rinse only. Lauren@GEAppliances
Q: does the washer come with hoses/water connections
A: This washer comes with a drain hose only. It does not come with hot and cold water inlet hoses. For full lists of Parts Supplied and Parts Required (sold separately), please see page 22 of the Owner’s Manual. The Owner’s Manual can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the Best Buy product page.
Q: What does ultra fresh and odor block mean
A: The ultra fresh is a venting system that the washer has. When it is closed after laundry is removed, it will beep to remind you to push the ultrafresh button that spins and vents the machine to prevent mold.
A: Yes, this model has a door that can be reversed. For full instructions, see the Reversing the Door Swing section starting on page 27 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Lauren@GEAppliances
Q: Does this model has a self-wash mode or option?
A: This washer does have a Self Clean feature. To initiate a Self Clean cycle, remove any garments or objects from the washer and ensure the washer basket is empty. Open the washer door and pour one cup or 250 ml of liquid bleach or other washing machine cleaner into the basket. Close the door and select the SELF CLEAN cycle. Push the Start pad. When the Self Clean cycle is working, the display will show the estimated cycle time remaining. The cycle will complete in about 90 minutes.
Q: How is this washer on removing pet hair?
A: We recommend utilizing the Air Fluff (no heat) setting on your dryer to help with pet hair removal. Place the items covered with pet hair in the dryer first for a 10-minute no-heat Air Fluff cycle, then wash and dry the items as usual. The Air Fluff cycle will remove a lot of the hair, and it will loosen up the remaining hair for better removal in the washer. -Vikki@GEAppliances

This model is a high-capacity, feature-rich front-load washer with many of GE’s premium technologies: steam cleaning, a smart detergent dispenser, antimicrobial protection, and the enhanced UltraFresh Vent System+ designed to help prevent odors after each wash. It’s stackable and designed to replace older 4.5 – 4.8 cu ft models with more space and efficiency. UltraFresh Vent System+ & anti-odor tech This feature combined with Microban helps reduce mold and smell issues common in front-load washers — which is a big plus if you’ve dealt with that before. There are times where water stays in the dispenser tray after a wash — so I just usually combat this by manually drying it with a towel to prevent mold. I had electronic/control board failures at the five year mark. Owned the 4.8cu and cost would have been over $500 so i just purchased a new washer during black Friday and it was this new 5.3cu.

Good machine
If you have a large family, you might want to consider a slightly larger load capacity. This particular model has been good for my family consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids. Sometimes I wish we could have a larger load capacity, but our apartment space wouldn't allow for a bigger machine. Overall, the machine works really well and we haven't had any issues. I installed this unit myself at my apartment complex and it was my first time connecting a washer and dryer. Took me about 6 hours to do as I made some rookie mistakes. Point being is that these machines are fairly easy to hookup and maintain.

Wonderful stylish washer for my family of four
Great washer. Capacity is awesome. I love the built-in laundry liquid capacity. It dispenses automatically. I love the quality of the stainless steel tubs for the washer and dryer. I love all of the features and amenities. The steam wash comes in handy for our sheets and other articles that require some Sanitation. Overall I would highly recommend this particular machine it is very stylish particularly when matched with the complementary dryer. They talk to each other so you tell the dryer what kind of clothes are inbound from the washer that'll automatically set itself to drive that particular type of load. Changing my laundry room to match the navy blue of these particular machines.
