My TV sound will change the volume in the sound bar. The volume works in the sound bar. I found that, if I had the TV sound turned up at all, there was a small lag between the two sounds, which makes the audio very nasty.. I use the TV sound very low to virtually inaudible - like 6 and turn up the sound bar. My TV is a two year old Samsung 65" 8000 series.
