“Is there something you have to empty to prevent this washer from leaking? I read someone said there is a door on the left front of this washer that has to be emptied to prevent the washer from leaking? Seems a leaking washer is a homeowners nightmare, how has this problem been resolved?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a drain on the bottom left that you have to drain if you move it. Drain trap also allows you trap small particles. Trapped a diamond from a ring that went through the wash once.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is an access panel on the bottom left/front of the washer where the filter is located. LG recommends the filter be cleaned once per month. There is a hose which drains remaining water from the tub that needs to be emptied before removing the filter or "leaking" from the filter area will occur. It won't leak randomly, but cleaning the water up from the floor under the washer would be difficult so be sure to empty using the hose before trying to remove the filter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The washer should not leak at all. The lint trap (the door he/she was talking about) should be checked/cleaned on a regular basis, that is correct - it is part of maintaining the unit, it is not a problem at all.
