“The drum light doesn't turn on when I open the door after a cycle. It does turn on properly during the start of the cycle. But it won't turn on each time I open the door as it does for the dryer. Is this normal or should I have mine looked at?”

• I too thought I had a defective washer because the drum light does not illuminate when opening the door. This is an oversight that can likely be addressed by a firmware update. The dryer light comes on when opening the door - I expect the washer would operate the same. Why do I need to hit power before opening the door to have light?!?
