The Owner's Manual states that the grates are dishwasher safe. No reference is made to them needing to be pre-treated prior to wash. Grates should be washed regularly and after spillovers. After cleaning the grates, let them dry completely and securely position them over the burners. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the grates were too long to fit in my dishwasher. Also grates are not coated with enamel or porcelain-dishwasher detergents may be too harsh for them over time.
