The LG 50 inch Class 4K Smart UHD TV with AI ThinQ® (49.5'' Diag), Model # 50UN7300PUF has an Auto Volume feature that you can click on to adjust the volume automatically for different broadcasting companies so you can always listen to channels at the desired volume, even after switching the channels. The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (CALM Act ) requires the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to bar the audio of TV commercials from being broadcast louder than the TV program material they accompany by requiring all "multichannel video programming" distributors to implement the "Techniques for Establishing and Maintaining Audio Loudness for Digital Television" issued by the international industry group Advanced Television Systems Committee. The final bill was passed on September 29, 2010. No specific penalties are given; those are to be set by the FCC in its regulations. A TV broadcaster or distributor is "in compliance" if it installs and uses suitable equipment and software. Unlike some FCC regulations, cable system operators are subject to the rule in addition to broadcast stations. The Commission adopted rules on December 13, 2011 that require commercials to have the same average volume as the programs they accompany. The rules became effective on December 13, 2012, one year after the date of their adoption. Broadcast television stations and pay TV providers were given until this date to be in full compliance. You can provide the FCC with specific information about TV commercials that seem louder than the programming they accompany by filing a complaint. You may also submit a complaint to the relevant TV station, pay TV provider, programming network or advertiser to convey your concern. The will evaluate individual complaints that provide specific information about the commercial in question and track them to determine if there are patterns or trends that suggest a need for enforcement action...^IFV

Select "All settings" from the side bar that comes up (it's toward the bottom, depending if you've customized button order). Select "Sound." Select "Additional Settings." Select "Volume Mode." From there, turn "Auto Volume" on or off depending on your preferences. I strongly suggest enabling Auto Volume if you use the built in Alexa feature for checking the weather forecast. When I tried disabling it, the weather forecast came out so loud it hurt my ears.
