• No. You must sign up for roku account to use the apps. You only will be charged if u purchase netflix or other apps thru roku tv.

• No, Roku is the operating system for the smart function so there is no monthly fees/charges to use it or its apps. Some of the apps (Netflix, Hulu, Sling, Amazon, etc) you will have to pay a monthly or yearly fee to use.

• You need to have Roku set up in order to operate the smart feature. Luckily there is no additional fees for this only if you pay to watch movies, but netflix, amazon videos, and others work if you have subscriptions. hope that helps
