This TV implements Dolby Vision's capability to up-convert video to 4K and from 2D to 3D. You can adjust the 2D to 3D conversion through a number of presets or manually adjust with two sliders. It takes some playing to get the best effect for what you are watching when up-converting. It works great with my few 3D Blu-Ray disks as well (no playing with settings needed). It uses passive glasses; I bought a set of 4 for just $2.50 each ($10 total) online.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it does. Granted, 2D -> 3D conversion isn't always perfect, but I think LG improved this capability from their previous generation. For example, on my older LG with 2D to 3D, sometimes peoples eyes would look like they were 3 feet in front of their face (creepy!). That doesn't seem to happen with this model. And, the conversion isn't all that terribly remarkable and nothing like watching a native 3D show/movie.

The 3D pattern Recognition setting automatically converts to 3D by analyzing the pattern of the original image and the Normal Image View allows you to also watch 3D as 2D without 3D effects.
