QuestionDoes it support 2 d to 3 d conversion? In other words, can 2d content be displayed in 3d?

- Answer This TV implements Dolby Vision's capability to up-convert video to 4K and from 2D to 3D. You can adjust the 2D to 3D conversion through a number of presets or manually adjust with two sliders. It takes some playing to get the best effect for what you are watching when up-converting. It works great with my few 3D Blu-Ray disks as well (no playing with settings needed). It uses passive glasses; I bought a set of 4 for just $2.50 each ($10 total) online.

QuestionIs WebOS 3.0 included?

- Answer Yes,the 55UH8500 includes WebOS 3.0. I had an update pushed as soon as I connected to my network. Also the apps (like Netflix or Amazon Video) are installed from a network server, so they get updated before use. I can't compare WebOS 3 to older versions.

QuestionIn the description it states it comes with a Magic Remote - "Get a powerful remote control, mouse and full keyboard all in one". What does it mean by mouse and keyboard all in one? I don't see a keyboard on the Magic Remote pictured here.

- Answer The remote works like a motion tracking mouse with a cursor on the TV screen. You use this mouse/cursor to select characters on an on-screen keyboard. It works better than I expected, but not like a touch screen or physical keyboard. Note that the TV has three USB ports so a bluetooth mouse/keyboard (or wired one) could potentially be attached, although I've read of some having problems with some third party products.

- Answer This TV supports Miracast, which is different from Chromecast or Airplay. Miracast works from my generic Android tablet and my galaxy S5 phone, but works differently from Chromecast and Airplay - you can find the details online. Miracast requires dedicating your device to video streaming, which Chromecast does not.

QuestionCAN A FIRE STICK BE HOOKED UP TO THIS TV

- Answer I can't say for sure since I don't own a fire stick. But I think that it would work on this TV. It has 3 HDMI ports one of them works in both directions. If fire stick uses HDMI port I think it would work. The TV also has a USB port that will play movies and music from a memory stick or hard drive. Sorry I couldn't tell you for sure.

QuestionIn the reviews the LG UH8500 gets above par at 7.8 over all. however the down side which by the way concerns me is that the picture isn't the best in a dark environment. Cant you adjust the brightness to make it better. anyone have this problem?

- Answer The brightness is fine, but the black levels are barely passable. I would go with a Vizio p series or Samsung 8000 or higher for a dark room.

QuestionWhat are the VESA mounting measurements ?

- Answer VESA mounting is 300x300 requiring 4 M6 screws. Many screws came with it but I did not find ones needed to mount it on a bracket. It was replacing a TV already mounted and those screws fit fine so I had no issues. Easy! Hanging on wall best done with 2 people, not heavy but awkward and can't see what you are doing alone!

- Answer If the mini is decoding a proprietary DirectTV signal, then I don't believe the TV could decode it. If it's a standard 4K stream, then it should handle those channels just fine.

- Answer 3D Bluray movies are outstanding on this set. A 3D DVD is much lower resolution.

QuestionThis TV has USB ports, so I can plug a jump drive into it and play movies off the jump drive. Does this TV support NTFS-formatted jump drives? What is the limit on file sizes? Also, what is the size limit of files streamed via DLNA?

- Answer There are no size limits. I have streamed a 20GB 4k movie. The built in streaming program works great, you can also download the Plex app to the TV.
