The SUPER UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # 55SJ8500 and the SJ8500 series TVs are LED edge backlight with local dimming which works differently from Full-array (Direct Backlighting) TVs that have LEDs placed all over behind the TV's LCD panel.
