Commenting on the answer I got. Well, there are so many settings on this TV that I don't want to spend the time explaining everything on the phone. It should work as it is setup. In fact, the problem got solved by not using Standby Mode which saves at most a second or two when turning the TV on. My suspicion would be some sort of insensitivity to HDMI sound input when turning it on from Standby Mode as opposed to redirecting sound input from wireless Netflix or Amazon. I think the TV is great and this problem is solved for me.
