A:AnswerThank you for your question!
Cooking on an LG Electric Smooth Top Range will work very well with all heavy-gauge pans. The most important thing to ensure is the pan has a flat bottom to ensure proper heat transfer. Everything from Stainless Steel pots and pans, to cast iron, enameled dutch ovens, or even flat-bottom woks are great for a Smooth Top Electric Range. Make sure that the weight of the handle does not tilt pan and that the pan is well balanced.
For ideal energy efficiency, use pan sizes that match the amount of food to be prepared and the size of the surface element.
A:AnswerThe reason that the power cord does not come with the LG 6.7 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Double Oven Range with Infrared Grill and EasyClean™, Model # LDE3037ST is because Double Oven Electric Convection Ranges that have an amp rating of 40 amps, 208/240V rating when installed in Mobile Homes, recreational vehicles and in installations where local codes do not allow grounding through the neutral wire will require a 4-conductor UL listed range cord or 4 wire conduit connection as dictated for new branch-circuit installations (1996 NEC) This appliance must be installed and grounded on a branch circuit by a qualified technician in accordance with the latest edition of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA No.70. You may happen to live in a building that requires a 3 Wire receptacle (10-50R) as you will find in many older buildings or maybe one that requires a 4 Wire receptacle (14-50R), as required for new buildings and constructions after Jan 01 1996. All wiring should conform to Local and NEC codes, and that ultimately will determine which cord you need to get for the appliance...^IFV
A:AnswerThrough price matching, you should be able to get this for around 1300. On Black Friday last year, it was as low as 1250. I didn't wait because I needed to replace my range immediately.
A:AnswerHi. Not sure this is the answer you're looking for, but I would think it is still safe to use as long as it's not continuing to flake off and would end up in the food.
I am not an expert, but I think the coating is primarily to aid in the self-cleaning feature of the oven. Sorry, but I don't have any idea if can can be repaired or where to go to find out.
A:AnswerObviously 'no' to te smaller upper oven! (Look at its height dimension on the specs tab).
Definitely YES to the lower oven. I just bought this stove after looking at both it and the LG 4415 model at my local Best Buy store. I went there (with turkey roasting pan taken along) specifically to see how the roasting pan with its rack would fit in the larger lower over of both this model and the LG 4415 (while estimating how n enclosed 25 lb turkey would fit). In the 4415 model, the upper oven is slightly larger than the upper oven in this model, and also the lower oven of the 4415 is SMALLER/SHORTER (by about 2 inches) than the lower oven of this model.
While my roasting pan fit in the lower oven of the 4415, there is ONLY 10 INCHES from the top of the rack in its lowest position to the bottom of the infrared broiling piece attached to the roof. 10 inches on the 4415 is NOT enough room for my roasting pan, rack (which sits st an inch up) and a 25 lb bird.
On this model though, it's helper oven having slightly more than 2 additional inches of height, I can see that the roasting pan, with rack and a 25 lb bird will definitely fit!!
Because of this, I bought this stove instead of the 4415 and am anxiously waiting for its delivery.
Incidentally, I am waiting for a different store to come pick up the much more expensive Jenn-Air stove I thought I was going to love. Its larger oven is on top (which I did NOT like), the ovens take FOREVER to heat up (no quick preheat), but the deal breaker is that they left the lower oven having a DRAWER instead of a door. It's tiny - picture your regular ovens storage drawer aide shorter! The oven coil is UNDER the drawer with only a thin flimsy piece of metal between it and your floor underneath! The worst part is that the drawer must be made from thin metal because preheating the lower oven makes the drawer nearly IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN!!! The scraping noise and difficulty opening starts when the oven gets to only about 100 degrees! As it gets hotter the issue is worse! It is NOT a warming drawer! It is an oven which specs state can be heated to around 425. As really excited about that stove because it is a new 'hybrid' - it looks like a slide in (no panel in the back sticking up), doesn't have a lip to overlap your counter, and has a slightly larger cooking area on the glass top. Other features I DIDNT LIKE are the smooth black glass top which shows everything, and there is NO regular self clean cycle - only the water/steam version! While I plan to use the steam clean as much as possible on my new LG, I imagine (from other reviews) that there will be times (maybe once a year for me) when the steam clean has not removed everything and you want to run a regular self clean cycle. It DID come with a recessed rack (giving you an inch or so more room for taller items like a turkey) and a rack on life bars which this LG model doesn't have - the LG 4415 has a slide rack...).
A:AnswerThe party who posted the comment related to the light and timer did not look too hard. Our black stainless LG double oven has a timer for each oven so you can time both. In addition you can use the timers independent of using the stove, I do this all the time. There is a panel on the back of the stove which is all touch screen. On the panel in addition to the timers, there is a button for oven light which again functions as it should!
A:AnswerHonestly, I find it very frustrating that 275 degrees is the lowest temperature available for the LG's convection bake setting. Do other brands have more flexibility? I never would have bought this over had I known.
