All tv's will benefit fro a calibration. This TV is pretty good out of the box. Especially colors. Better than most. However, it still could use a calibration to set up you gama, contrast & brightness settings. The problem with this tv wirthout getting very technical is that it's difficult to calibrate. And it's also new OLED technology and now with the new er HDR. Unfortunately, there are not many calibrators out there with the experieince to calibrate this TV corrreclty. Let alone the equpiment to calibarte HDR properly. I only know of a handful of good calibraters for this TV. You will need to find a good calibrater with patience and who is willing to take the time to calibrate this correctly. A good calibration will also increase the life of your TV by not making it any brighter thanit needds to be. If the TV isnt calibrated properly, people may not like it. But I can also infrom you that yes, some people don't even like a properly calibrated TV. The TV typically will not be as bright as people are use to. For me personally, it makes the color warmer than I like. Hopefully this helps. For more information, visit the AVS Forum online. Great information there from some diehard videophiles.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When you register the TV for warranty with LG they follow up with a letter telling you the best way to set up the OLED TV. Mine is perfect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.make certain you're running the latest firmware from the website. the auto updater in the us isn't working properly. it's up to 4.20.75 as of today. i performed a calibration on it, and ultimately decided to go back to the preset Cinema settings. I for one prefer the brightness that comes with this preset. The colors out of the box are pretty spot on, and I actually like the Soap Opera Effect. Try these calibration settings before blowing several hundred dollars on one: http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/lg-65ef9500-picture-settings/ but know that those settings will drastically reduce brightness.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you should learn how to adjust it yourself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. This TV does not have the same problems as the LED TVs. Do not use the Geek Squad. The only parameter that has to be adjusted is the brightness and that may have to adjusted depending on the show you are watching. It is very easy to adjust the brightness.
