I have been looking at this tv for nearly a year before I purchased it, and I couldn't be happier. This tv is not artificially bright like LED tv's, but is plenty bright with incredible black levels and vibrant colors. The sound is more than adequate, but I have this tv hooked up to a Yamaha receiver and a full set of Klipsch speakers that provide movie theater quality sound. This tv looks great in my game room, and everyone who comes over is in awe of the picture quality. This OLED technology is very plasma like, with no observed motion blur while watching football, hockey, or basketball (we aren't in baseball season yet, but I do not see this tv having any issues providing a quality picture in this sport either). This tv replaced a Samsung 4K Curved tv, and the diffrerence is incredible..... This tv is a game changer. This is a high end tv with a matching price point, but for those videophiles who are looking for the very best picture, look no further. The 4K upscaling makes the 1080i cable signal currently being broadcast to a near 4K viewing experience. I can honestly say that I have never seen a more amazing picture from any other tv that I've ever seen. Long story short, the specs on this tv are incredible, contrast is unmatched, accurate colors, deepest black possible, and the absolute sharpest picture produced today. Some of the negative reviews I've read appear to be cable/satellite provider issues, this tv will provide you with the amazing picture quality you see at the store. If I could give it higher than a 5..... I would, this tv is the real deal. If your considering this tv.....why wait? Don't hesitate to buy this tv, you will not be disappointed!! I am extremely happy with this tv, and would buy it again...... Definitely more than I can say about the Samsung 4K Curved tv it replaced

    Great TV - Terrible Execution

I really wanted to love this tv, but because of quality control issues I just couldn't. Let me start off by saying that the picture on this tv is simply astonishing... most of the time. I went through 2 tvs and both had similar issues in 2 different scenarios. 1) When the picture is really dark but not black, pixels close to the edges would just decide to stay black as opposed to the gray that it should've been. This is very noticeable when watching the first episode of "How to Get Away With Murder". However, I was willing to live with this issue because it wasn't noticeable until you looked for it. 2) The much bigger issue is the lack of a uniform white screen. If you put an entirely white screen on your tv, the tv should be completely white. It should not have streaks of light blue and in worse cases yellow. Both of my tvs had 2 blue bands and my second tv had yellow down the middle. Ultimately the problem is that this issue starts to leak into other screens when the screen is trying to show a uniform picture. For example, when watching football and the screen is filled up with the field, I could very obviously notice that parts of the field were a bit bluer where the blue bands appeared on the white screen. For the amount of money that I was paying, I expected more from this tv. I decided to switch to a cheaper but still very nice LED tv. My new LED tv makes me miss this OLED tv... a lot. But the issues were just too big for me and I wasn't happy with the purchase. I definitely had to settle for a worse tv where I can't really notice any issues aside from blacks not being completely black.

I own two LG 4K tv's and this Oled 65" blows the other two out of the water. The screen is literally a picture on glass and the blacks and colors are flawless. I have had the Oled for a couple of months now, and I am extremely satisfied. Even regular tv is enhanced to almost blue ray quality. I would recommend to anyone that can afford to part with the money. Handing over 5K for a 4K tv was hard to swallow. No regrets.

The picture is absolutely awesome on these oled tv's. Web OS seems a little slow but it is never unresponsive. All the apps are nice but I wish there were more. (I.e. Hbo go). I use netfix, hulu, YouTube, and vudu All the time. Blurays and streaming content all look good on this tv. I have my Xbox And Apple TV hooked up to it. Ihave played video games on this tv And have not had Any issues with lag. Maybe it is only something competitive gamers would notice. FIFA, racing games, and shooters all worked fine for me. The 3D works well although I have not used it that much because my wife doesn't care for it. It can even convert regular programming to 3D. I use cinema mode for almost everything but there are other modes like game, sport, vivid, energy saving and 2 pro calibration modes that you can tweak or have someone calibrate for you. The 3 hdmi ports are enough for what I use it 4 and the one built into the Xbox provides me with an extra hdmi. Sometimes the volume feels too low but I am not sure if it is the program or the tv. The magic remote is pretty cool and provides for quick and accurate selection. I was able to get this tv about 1500 dollars cheaper because they did a price match to an online competitor. When Best Buy had a special the following week for a free wall mount and $300 gift card Best Buy honored their sale and gave us that as well. I thought it was only a tilting mount but it also extends about 8 inches. The box it comes in is quite large and requires 2 people to move it. I would not recommend anyone trying to move this by themselves. I had to put down all the seats in my suv for it to fit(Honda pilot) it did not fit standing. Thankfully it is a little more forgiving than a plasma so it can be layed flat for short trips. The tv itself is extremely thin, less than the width of my index finger. If your tv seems a little dark make sure it didn't change itself to energy saver mode, it did that to me a few times. If you are going to buy a uhd bluray player (not an upscaling bluray player) look into the Xbox one s . For 299 you get a uhd bluray player and an 500GB Xbox compared to samsungs uhd bluray player which costs 399 and is only a uhd bluray player. For 399 you can also get the 2TB Xbox one s. And Xbox has a lot of the apps that are missing from this system. That last part is just a recommendation of you want to watch stuff in true 4K and not just upscaled 1080p. And the difference between uhd(4K) and 1080p(HD) is remarkable. The one thing I do not like about the apps is that a lot of them will just Say had instead of 4K even though it is in 4K Making 4K content hard to find. Look online for lists of streaming 4K. This oled tech is awesome if you have been holding onto your plasma because LEDs and lcds picture quality could not compare. More manufacturers need to use oled. Hope this review helps!

This TV looks great on the wall in the store. I got it home and ran a five percent grey screen test on it and the banding issues are disgusting. The noise in the dark scenes is horrendous. I read all the reviews on this thing before I bought it and all I can say is don't believe the hype!!!

This has got to be the best TV ever made imho. Worth every penny spent on it. Even though you could save about $1000 on a comparably equipped LCD display, nothing matches the deep blacks, wide viewing angle and perfect 3D of the LG OLED. Go see the TV side by side in Best Buy and you will be blown away. Easy to use remote and onscreen apps made the TV perfect in every way.

I have waited nearly ten years for large screen OLEDs to become a reality. All the forums I read have commented on its possibilities for some time. The darker screen is something old LCD users will have to get used to, but there has never ever been these kind of blacks on a television before. Contrast is excellent and the colors are vibrant and true. Never have owned a smart tv before but this LG model is quite easy to use. I have not had any of the artifacts or problems earlier owners have mentioned. This model has an October 2015 manufacturing date and this late date seems to have eliminated the objections I have read about. Burn-in is not an issue nor is motion blur. I am now eagerly waiting for 4K blue ray to show up though online 4k material is not bad. Yes, I would recommend the LG OLED 65" 7500 to anyone. Don't think that the price will come down any time soon.

    Best TV EVER..Nothing Else Compares

I just replaced a 6 year old Sony XBR LCD 52" TV so this was a night and day difference. When we saw the OLED tv's about a year ago, we were drooling over how nice the picture was but of course at $8,000 for a 55 inch and over $10,000 for a 65 inch, it put it out of our reach. So, we started looking at 75" TV's from Samsung and Sony and those were 4K but in it's infancy (so much that everyone we spoke to said 4K is great but there is NO content to watch so it's a waste of money to buy). Fast forward about a year and here we have the newest LG OLED (flat screen) that is also 4K and we purchased at BB for $5K and it even included a bonus FREE LG 4K 49 inch TV. The picture is stunning..deep blacks and colors that pop. We paired it with the top of the line Marantz SR7010 and a Harmony Ultimate Home remote (love this remote by the way). I think this month we alone helped the stock price of BB as we spent a lot of time and money picking out just the right system. I really don't need to say anymore about how amazing the picture is. If you are reading this review, you know already what OLED is and just let your eyes be the judge. Only thing I would recommend is getting the Geek Squad warranty as the technology is still kind of new and who knows what could happen as far as screen burn-in or any other problems that arise…well worth taking the assurance the plan gives you. Oh…one more thing. I highly recommend if you are going to mount this TV on a wall getting the LG mount made for this TV. We purchased our TV in early October and BB didn't sell this mount at that time so we ordered somewhere else. However, the installer from Geek Squad really liked installing with this mount as they didn't have to build it (it comes all put together and they only have to drill holes and mount and level). It also is designed for the OLED TV's and sits nice and close to the wall but also swivels left and right and up and down.

This TV has great color and contrast. Worst thing about the TV is the judder. It requires some break-in time and some tweaking. 3D is exceptional. Screen isn't as bright as other LED TV's but the beauty is that you see a lot of detail in night scenes. Blacks are deep.

It's safe to say that OLED is the very worthy successor to plasma, but I would go even further to say that this LG OLED TV is easily far better than my previous plasma television. The vibrance of the colors is something to behold, and the black and white representation is truly astounding. No more fussing with edge-lit, or full array, or any of that nonsense. This set is super bright and super beautiful. I can't believe I even considered another alternative. The demos in the store simply do not do this set any justice. You have to see your own content on it to understand just how good it is. The set is capable of upscaling 1080 to a higher resolution and it really shows on high quality content. I recently began rewatching Star Trek TNG on Amazon Prime and it is absolutely amazing how good the ship in space scenes look. There's a definitive bump to the acted out scenes as well. And then there's 4K. Holy Cow!! Fire up a Netflix video or Amazon Prime show in 4K and instantly you will see just how amazing this set truly is. Marco Polo in 4K....you can see the individual hairs in a man's beard; the pores in peoples skin; the threads in a tapestry. THIS is the way TV should be watched! Now on to other features, etc...The built-in speakers are surprisingly good for a paper thin TV. But you're still going to want a quality sound bar or HT system if you really want to enjoy your shows. The magic remote is ok...it's about like using a Wiimote....I would prefer a regular remote, but it's not a big deal. There's a bunch of built-in apps with WebOS. All the really important ones are there, but some of the more commonly used or even obscure ones are not. Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Google Play...they're there. I attempted to hard wire the set to my ethernet and for some reason I simply could not get 4K streaming to work. The minute I switched to wireless it was perfect. Seems to me the built-in ethernet adapter is garbage, but who really cares....most people don't use hard wiring anymore. Lastly, the 3d is a sight to behold. I had all but written off 3d as a stupid gimmick because anytime you turned it on it dimmed the image so bad it was unwatchable. Simply not true with this set. The brightness seems unaffected by 3d, and what's more....the 2d to 3d conversion is quite good. Images just pop off the screen and it really gets you excited about maybe giving 3d another shot. The glasses are super lightweight, and since it's a passive system you can even use those disposable glasses from the movie theater on this set. Do not waste your time on other inferior gimmicks....Go OLED now!!

I've been waiting for a flat OLED tv for a few years now, and LG finally delivered. Reviews for this tv claim it to be their best picture quality ever seen, and they are not wrong. My previous TV was a Panasonic plasma, which I loved, but even the picture quality on it is trumped by this TV. Black levels are absolutely black. In a dark room when the screen is black, you can't tell where the screen stops. 4k content is still rare these days, but this tv is ready for the future, and currently delivers the best picture out there. I'm not a big fan of 3d, but this one does even an amazing job of converting a 2d image into 3d! Games on my Xbox One look amazing. I'm excited to get home from work just to watch TV, movie, or play a game. Two thumbs up.

The LG 65EF9500 is the best tv on the market. The first thing you will notice is the infinite contrast. It makes the image almost 3D like. The detail on video content is something I had never seem before on any tv. I have owned plasma and FALD LED, and they do not come close to OLED. 4K Upscaling on this tv is impressive. It takes average cable HD and makes it look great. Blu Ray is even more impressive. The motion issues that may have affected earlier OLED is no longer a problem. Motion is fluid with no need to even turn on motion enhancement. I recently had the Sony 940C, but exchanged for the 9500. The 9500 blows away the 940C in every category except size.

The 65ef9500 is the best TV of 2015. Due to its OLED panel, the TV displays infinite blacks and with the combination of its white sub-pixel technology, its contrast is unmatched. Not only are the colors and contrast amazing, but so is the 4K resolution that the TV can display. Even with several things not being in native 4K resolution, its up-scaling the TV does automatically is phenomenal and makes everything watched look incredibly better. The super slim design and crystal clear stand creates the illusion of the TV floating in mid air, which is especially noticeable at night. One thing I was genuinely surprised about though was how well the TV simulated 3D. I'm typically not a fan, but this TV does it very well to the point I'd play PS4 games in 3D to get that much more of an immersive feel. If you want a premium experience that almost no other TV can produce (besides other LG OLEDs coming out in 2016), then I'd highly recommend the 65ef9500. It has been, by far, worth the investment.

The picture is great. The 3D is great and the 4K is almost required to enable the 3D. I have glasses for the dual play*, but have not tested that feature. Note none of the glasses need batteries. Identical to the ones you get for 3D at the real movies. I have been waiting for this TV for around 5 years. As for the smart remote I rarely use the onscreen pointer with the remote but rather use the Bluetooth keyboard /trackpad my son got me a for text entry and clicking on the screen. The rest of the remote works well. *One guy wears dual left eye glasses and the other wears dual right eye glasses. That way each person gets a whole screen HD picture (1080p) and you can NOT see what the other guy is doing like you can in the side by side play mode. Sounds cool.

After reading numerous reviews, making numerous trips to Best Buy, and researching further, I finally pulled the trigger on the LG 65 inch flat Oled tv and I'm glad I did. I'm sure the Best Buy staff is glad as well we talked "TV's" over and over and over. As an over analyzing fanatic for all things technology (especially TV quality and sound systems), I can give some very simple advice that should save a buyer a TON of time. Bottom line is this - If you have the money and can afford the LG Oled tv, buy it and don't waste another minute. There is Oled and everyone else is LED. Forget the the fancy quantum dot buzz words from the manufactures of LED tv, bottom line is they are LED tvs (back or edge lit) and they will never compare to Oled. It is really that simple. If you cannot afford an LG Oled, then I don't believe you can go wrong with Samsung, Sony and Vizio (yes Vizio as most of there's are back lit). Everything you've ever heard about Oled's perfect blacks are 100% true. Just so happens SyFy channel has been showing the old Twight Zone series, which are in Black/White. It's pretty amazing how the perfect blacks from Oled can make a black/white show look. Its awesome! A lot of the LED tvs will advertise "now brighter than ever, etc...". I have news for you, you don't want a super bright picture in a dark room. I watch a lot of series in the evening with the lights off. Great thing about the Oled's perfect blacks are it makes the TV look naturally brighter without blinding you when the lights are turned off/down. I have not calibrated my Oled yet and I've had it for about 2 months now. Frankly, haven't had the need to but I will probably do so at some point. Bottom line is I use "Dynamic or Normal" in day or night with ZERO issues. I watch NFL a lot and have no motion/judder issues at all. I'm a gamer and my TV is set to use Game mode when I fire up the PS4 to reduce lag. Nice thing is it auto switches mode for me. Without game mode, lag was very noticeable. In game mode, i cannot tell and I primarily play first person shooter games. The other nice thing about this TV (specifically Oled), is perfect viewing angles which you don't get with LED tvs. I should say that I'm coming from a Panasonic Plasma tv by the way. Oled is the closet you can get to plasma. I have very popular brand of LED upstairs in a bedroom and its a 42 inch LED. For the most part, it looks great, but I see the "blooming" all the time when the screen goes black. Basically is white highlights from the LEDs so the black is not perfect. I wanted to eliminate this on my next TV and Oled does just that. Now, is this TV platform perfect? Nope, don't there is such a thing. Here's what I don't care for and I'll admit, I'm picky. 1. The Remote - for the most part, its really awesome. The only thing I don't care for is the scroll wheel that you have to push to click. the switch itself makes a click sound. Would like to see this refined. 2. Smart TV - Let me be careful here. Overall, the smart tv is great with an excellent interface - probably the best. I'm talking about a behavior i experience with streaming from Amazon that I don't get with my PS4 or Rokus. When I start a movie or show, the first 5 - 10 seconds are very grainy, but then the quality is superb HD quality. It's not bandwidth as my PS4 and Roku's are fine, It may just be the way LG cache's the stream - not sure. This is not a big deal as the picture is perfect after about 5 - 10 secs, but as i mentioned, I'm picky with this stuff. I hope you enjoyed my brutally honest review. Go test one out at BestBuy and I think you'll experience everything I described. I actually added my Netflix account to the one in BB just so I could make sure the experience was as good as a Roku. It certain is - just the 5 - 10 seconds before the quality becomes perfect.
