  • QuestionIs this TV ATSC3.0 ???? NEXT GEN TV??

    Asked by HOTROD.

    • Answer The LG - 65" Class 85A Series QNED evo AI MiniLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2025), Model # 65QNED85AUA, has a built-in ATSC (aka ATSC 1.0) tuner. We do not have any LG TVs that include a NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) tuner. After introducing ATSC 3.0 tuners to some of our TV models in 2020, LG confirmed to the FCC that the NextGen tuners will be absent in its 2024 lineup. LG announced on September 26, 2023, that it would suspend the inclusion of NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) tuners in its 2024/2025 television lineup for the U.S. market due to a patent dispute regarding ATSC 3.0 technology, which significantly increased royalty costs per unit. LG has been a vocal ATSC 3.0 advocate, a strong supporter of local broadcasters, and a leading developer of television products with the latest NEXTGEN TV technologies. Going forward, LG is still looking for an alternative resolution to the dispute that would allow them to include ATSC 3.0 tuners in future devices...^Ivan.

  • QuestionIf this tv has miniLED back-lighting why does Best Buys description indicate it is edge-lit?

    Asked by TexAg.

    • Answer Hello there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding the backlighting specifications for the LG 65" Class 85A Series QNED TV. While the 2025 QNED85A series features MiniLED technology to provide enhanced brightness and color, it utilizes an edge-lit configuration rather than a full-array layout to maintain its slim, "AirSlim" design profile. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-65-class-85a-series-qned-evo-ai-miniled-4k-uhd-smart-webos-tv-2025/JJ8VPZTR3Q For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on [email protected]. —Renzo

  • QuestionHow many nits does it have

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Regrettably, like most TV manufacturers, LG does not advertise nits or candelas per square meter (cd/m²), for the LG 65" Class 85A Series QNED evo AI MiniLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2025) Model # 65QNED85AUA, nor for any of our TVs. That trend has shifted in recent years and the emphasis on brightness as a sole indicator of TV quality has becoming less common since there never was a standardized method for measuring nits, and different brands measured nits differently, which can lead to misleading claims about actual brightness levels, so while brightness is still a key specification for consumers, many manufacturers are now focusing on other factors such as contrast and overall picture quality rather than just peak brightness...^Ivan.
