“With the recent 04.71.05 firmware update (released December 17th, 2019 according to LG's Official Support Page), has native support for 1440p @60Hz been added? Previously it was only supported if you forced the resolution.”

In short - I think no. On the lg drivers site if you click on reference next to the zip file download link you can see what’s in it and the fix history. Think this newest one relates to nvidia g-sync. Hope that helps!
