I have the c9 in a room with two large skylights and two double French doors with built in blinds. This room is very bright. I basically leave the setting on expert dark room setting 24-7 with no issues. It has much brighter settings as well. You can’t go wrong with this set.

My room gets sun in the afternoon and I was worried about that too but have not experienced any issues. The tv is totally worth it. The sound is fine too. If you don't like it, then buy a home theater setup or soundbar. Good luck.
