Full Array Dimming Pro is able to provide better black uniformity as well as superior brightness across the TV screen. Full Array Dimming Pro provides better lighting control than Full Array Dimming so that you can enjoy better uniformity and brightness. All 4K TVs have a built-in 4K Upscaler. Currently, TV programs and cable programs are broadcast in either 720p or 1080i. 4K TVs have a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 (also referred to as 2160p) and will always play any video content they are presented with at their native resolution. When presented with a lower resolution, they will upconvert or upscale that signal to, or as close to their native resolution. The quality of the image after it is upconverted will depend on how well the upscaler performs that task. There is no qualitative measurement for the quality because TV broadcasters compress the signal and that can affect how good the upconversion will look. 1080i or 720p are signals that have fewer pixels than 4K. A 4K TV can improve the picture by upconverting. ^CP
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.LG has not disclosed the details of the full array local dimming systems used on either the SK9000 or the SK9500. Some sources state that both use 128 LEDs in the array. The up-conversion from 1080p to 4K on the LG 65SK9000PUA is excellent. I have that television and ran some tests which indicated that the up conversion was being done very well. You can also use a magnifying glass on the screen to see the interpolation. Really an excellent video image generator!
