Q: QuestionIs this edge lit?
Asked by Tbone.
- A:Answer This tv is edge lit. And you can notice the edge lighting when your in a dark room. However I wouldn’t say it’s distracting. This TV is a step below OLED. So for the price that’s what you get. But again LG TVs have some of the best panels . So even if you can find a tv that’s not edge lit, the picture might not be as clear,

Q: QuestionCan this be transported on its side from store to home?
Asked by Gerald.
- A:Answer When transporting the TV, keep the TV upright; never turn the TV on its side or tilt towards the left or right. When moving or lifting the TV, read the following to prevent the TV from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation regardless of its type and size. It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material that the TV originally came in. Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables. Q: QuestionI recently purchased this the LG 65SM8600PUA and i wanted to know since this model does not feature full array local dimming, and it uses edge lit local dimming. will it be a significant down side?
Asked by mercboy.
- A:Answer For years Edge Lit TVs were the gold standard—and they're still the most common types of TVs available. They use LEDs placed along the edge of the TV, facing the center of the screen, to light the image. In terms of local dimming, they can typically only dim large sections of the picture, not the pin-point dimming you'd get with Full Array. In the case of Full Array LED TVs, the LEDs are numerous, and spread throughout the back of the television. And because there are generally more LEDs on Full Array TVs than Edge Lit, local dimming is finer, more targeted, and produces deeper, darker, richer images that make what you're watching on the screen virtually come to life. In the Full Array LED vs. Edge Lit TV comparison, Full Arrays come out on top. However, if a Full Array television isn't in your budget, or you don't want or need, a Full Array TV for work or your own personal use, Edge Lit televisions still do an excellent job of producing quality images that are crisp, deep and beautiful.
