“Will I be able to connect a vcr using a, rca out, hdmi in, cord only without using a converter? If not, will using a converter work well with no picture issues. Using the antenna inputs would be my last resort.”

Hi Blaise. VCRs do not have an HDMI port on them unless they are a VCR/DVD combo unit.
