The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG - 7.3 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle Ultralarge-Capacity Steam Electric Dryer - White, Model # DLEY1701W has its' own water inlet valve that has to be connected to a cold water faucet for a water supply for its steam functions. Supplied with the dryer is a short and a long water inlet hose and a "Y" connector. The "Y" connector can be used to split the cold water supply from the cold water faucet so that one line feeds the washing machine's cold water inlet valve and the other feeds that going to the dryer's water inlet valve. Using the steam cycle on the dryer will have minimal to no impact on the washer while running the washer at the same time if the water pressure in your home is at the proper PSI level...^IFV
