“The dryer light keeps notifying us the lint filter needs to be cleaned, but when we check the filter, it has nothing in it. It happens when the load is large or small. We have to babysit the dryer to ensure it doesn’t turn off. Is there a solution?”

If your unit is still under warranty, set up a warranty repair call through LG. They will get a local technician to come out and fix it. The front panel of the dryer can open and lint that has escaped the lint trap will accumulate all inside the dryer -- that is probably what needs to be cleaned.
