In accordance with the International Residential Codes (IRC) it is strongly recommended that you only use 4-inch (10.2 cm) in diameter of rigid or flexible metal ductwork inside the dryer cabinet and for venting outside with no obstructions. Please pardon us, but we are not sure what you mean by " "the dryer exhaust vent set back distance?". if you were inquiring about what the recommended spacing dimensions are for the dryer, 2 inches clearance is required for side or bottom venting and 5" clearance is required for the rear. Although the dryer is shipped to vent to the rear, you can configure it to vent to the bottom or the left side and for that, you would need the adapter kit that contains the necessary components to change the vent location.
