After 11 years, my old washing machine needed replacing. Because it had been 11 years, I needed to get current with the new products and I found myself returning to the BB web site to help answer all my questions. From that research, I determined I didn't need the super expensive, state of the art machines that were available and that I wanted more that the lower cost products. I found a good, mid-price range option in the LG machine I ended up with and BB was instrumental in that decision. After that, every step, from store visit to home installation was excellent and satisfying.

    Sensor dry not so reliable

I chose this product because of it's limited functions. I wanted something simple and essentially a no-brainer when it came to drying clothes. The knob settings allow for that, but I found the auto sensors for determining when a load is considered dry in the cotton setting (which is my go to setting), are not so accurate. After the signal goes off, it is still a bit damp and i have to do a quick speed dry to get it completely dry. On my first load I thought the dryer was defective until I read it has a eco/energy conservation mode where it just tosses the clothes around in room temp air for 40 minutes before it heats up for the last 20-30 minutes. The run times between this and the extra speed dry cycle takes some getting used to. I'm still working on trying the other settings and will update if something new comes up.

I also own a recent model washer by LG…I really like the washer so far, so we bought the stackable dryer. They are a towering pair and my wife cannot really reach all of the controls for the dryer. But, then again, all washer and dryers seem to be giant these days. The dryer works well and has many features that we will probably not use. It has an overly complicated settings section and you can even download other settings if you want to…I guess. I can't imagine being that bored or with so much free time that I want something other than…."dry my clothes". If you are into lots of buttons and options that make tiny adjustments in how your clothes are dried, then I think you will be pleased. I'm just not that interested. Time will tell on wether it is reliable. I will post back if I have problems…so far so good.

We purchased this dryer to match up with the LG series washer that replaced our previous one. It works just as efficiently as our LG washer does. Very reasonable cycle times, very energy conscious in-terms of using a good mixture of gas & natural air. Powerful, but s-u-p-e-r quiet, you can barely even tell it's on at times, very low-noise. Decent, strong filter, very easy to clean off. The integrated LED lighting of the cycle options & settings menu is fantastic. Very bright, brilliant pure white LEDs. Gives the unit a very modern look. Overall: everything I expected from an LG appliance & more. The price is a bargain for a modern dryer, in my honest opinion. Excellent product.

I had to replace our old LG after it had a series of problems that, although fixable, would have cost more than a new dryer. Since our dryer was only 10 years old I was frustrated so I did my research and found out the average life of a dryer is only 10-13 years AND LG has the least repairs. For the record, I'd never had any repairs on it for the entire 10 years. It was a great machine. I do like my new dryer, almost exactly the same model as my old one. It's MUCH quieter than previous so I love that. I wish a sweater rack came standard in these but other than that I'd recommend this model.

We had purchased an LG washer and dryer about 4 years ago. They work beautifully. Most recently we have purchased another set for a different location. I am disappointed that the door seems flimsier than the older one we own. In addition, I have called LG Authorized Repair to come out to look at it because there is a lot of banging noise as it spins. (That is why we replaced the last washer which was 11 years old. The bearings had worn out.) So I hope the repair people can fix the noise and hope this product lasts at least 10 years.

Works like a charm. There are multiple modes to choose from. You can also download your own cycle. There multiple modes are largely grouped into 2 modes : sensor mode and manual mode. The sensor mode stops the dryer either at the allotted time or when it detects that clothes have dried off - whatever comes first. The only problem with the sensor mode is when there are only a few clothes added to the dryer. In that case, it stops prematurely. So when I want to dry a few clothes, I use manual mode.

A part for my 8 year old Samsung dryer had been on backorder for more than 6 weeks with no estimated time for arrival. I called multiple people that I know do a lot of laundry and they all recommended LG. It's been about 6 weeks and I have been very happy that I went with their recommendations. I also looked on Consumer Reports and they rated LG with the least number of repairs, etc... low upkeep. I hope they are right!
